Deliveries
We aim to have your order packed and on its way within 3 working days.
Because so much of our flour is milled fresh, in small batches, there are moments when we simply need to wait for the next one to be ready. When that happens, we do everything we can to keep things moving, so your flour reaches you as quickly as it possibly can.
It is always worth keeping a little extra stock close at hand — just in case milling, packing or delivery takes a touch longer than expected.
Thank you, as ever, for your patience and your custom. It means a great deal to us.
1. Where will you place the goods at the delivery point?
Pallet deliveries are made to a kerbside location. If there is an accessible delivery point that can be safely accessed by the delivery driver using a pump truck then, at the delivery driver’s absolute discretion, the pallet may be left there.
Unlike parcels, palletised goods are by their nature larger items that cannot easily be moved. This is not a two-man delivery service and the delivery driver has to operate within health and safety guidelines. They are under no obligation to enter the delivery premises in order to deliver the goods to a different location.
You should ensure that the named contact is available at the delivery point to meet the driver.
2. What access is needed?
As the pallet will be moved by a manually operated pallet truck, we cannot deliver pallets on gravel drives, steep hills or to locations that are not at ground level.
3. What happens if there is a problem or damage during transit?
At the time of delivery, the goods should be inspected and any damage reported to the delivery driver. If you sign for a pallet and don't report damage upon delivery, it is assumed you are signing for receipt of the palletised goods in good condition.
In the unlikely event of damage, the recipient should write "DAMAGE" next to your signature if the goods cannot be refused. You should contact us immediately on 01666 505050 to report the damage and our team will assist you. Please advise the details of the damage and ideally include a photo.
4. How long does delivery take?
Shipton Mill will endeavour to process and despatch your order within 5 working days. Our ability to achieve this will depend on when your order is received, availability of stock, and the ability of the courier to meet the deadlines.
5. When will you deliver?
Standard operating hours for deliveries are between 09:00 and 17:30, Monday to Friday. However, depending on depot activity, delivery routes and traffic conditions, the courier may occasionally arrive before or after these standard hours.
While we always aim for deliveries to take place within the expected timeframe, unforeseen circumstances beyond our control may occasionally cause delays.
6. Red Routes
Our courier services cannot stop on red routes.
7. What If I'm not present during Delivery?
Our courier services will contact you on the mobile number provided when you created an account with Shipton Mill. They will attempt to re-deliver the following day once you have confirmed that someone will accept the delivery .
